Catching my breath

It’s been chilly these past few days and it’s really starting to feel like winter.  At least San Francisco’s version of winter.  We don’t have snow storms and icy roads to contend with but it’s the perfect weather for hats and gloves, cozy nights by the fire, hot chocolate, and a great excuse to buy a new coat.

Still, I don’t quite have time for all of that yet.  My last wedding of the year is Saturday; my very dear friend is flying in from KC to help me and then next week I am off to Breckenridge, Colorado to attend the wedding of another very good friend.  You might remember her Tahoe engagement session and I also did a boudoir session with her but it’s under wraps until she gives the album to her very luck husband-to-be.  The hubby is staying home and I’m going with a girlfriend so hijinks will surely ensue.  And it’s my first snowboarding trip of the season so come on weather, make some snow!  In between all that I am doing 2 family sessions and working like crazy on album designs.  Dear personal life, where have you gone and when are coming back to me?

This is my long way of saying that the blog might be quiet for the next few weeks.  What’s that you say?  Hasn’t it already been pretty quiet?  Indeed it has.  But I’ll catch up and I have lots of great photos to share.  In the meantime, maybe this photo of my sweet girl, on a sunny day that wasn’t so long ago will help warm you up.

On the road

I’m leaving today for a little vacation before my busy season kicks into gear.  I’ll be checking email but not as frequently and I’ll also be posting a couple of recent sessions.  I hope to share a few photos from the road as we make our way from San Francisco to the Gorge Ampitheater in Washington for the Sasquatch Festival and then on to British Columbia to visit friends and family.  Please get in touch if you need anything but know that it might take me a few days to get back to you.  And here’s a little peek from an engagement session last week… more to follow soon.

Cupcakes and Pillow Fights {valentine’s day}

February 14, 2008. A day full of roses and balloons and bears. Unless you are me and your husband seems to be out of town every time this date comes along. Coincidence? Perhaps. Definitely convenient for him. Lucky for him, I’m not hung up on Valentine’s Day. In fact, it usually goes unnoticed around here. But this year Anna and I baked and decorated cupcakes.

And then later I went to a giant Pillow Fight.
We watched for an hour and it was still going strong when we left.

Happy Halloween!

This is the scariest photo I can come up with. Pretty frightening, no?

Autumn

I love autumn. Or fall. (Which do you say? I tend to use both but apparently “autumn” is the British way while “fall” is more of a U.S. version.) Either way, either word, it’s pumpkins, crisp air, sweaters, Halloween, and leaves changing. We don’t get much of that last one in the Bay Area but Tahoe is amazing this time of year. My mom and I went on a little photo adventure and found some beautiful spots near Hope Valley.

Swedish fish are delish

It’s no secret – I love Swedish fish. And when my friend Anna introduced me to real Swedish fish (you know, from Sweden) well, there was no going back. Anna’s mom is here visiting and what did I get? Yes, a bunch of fisk (that Swedish for fish) and some other fun candy. I don’t know what I love more – the teeth or the egg.
