I’d like you to meet…

…some of my favorite people in the whole wide world!  Tracy and Tim live in Kansas City with their 2 kids, Ryan and Megan.  Tracy and I met while working at a restaurant together in college and became fast friends.  We’ve had lots of fun times though we seem to excel at drinking and laughing together.  Also, strangely, exercising.  That’s because Tracy is a physical education teacher and she knows how to motivate lazy people like myself.  (Thanks, Tracy!  Now if only you lived closer I might actually be in shape.)  My little family spent a good amount of time in Kansas this summer (more on that later) and we stayed in a house only a few minutes away from these guys.  It would be an understatement to say that we had a blast!  Swimming all day, grilling every night and watching our kids play together.  There may have even been a night out and a mechanical bull ride.  I can’t say for sure.

I don’t miss Kansas very often but I sure miss the people.  Tracy and Tim and their sweet kiddos in particular.  Enjoy the fun session we had – this was in their backyard!

Keri + Russell = LOVE

I’m photographing Keri’s sister’s wedding in July and she contacted me a few months ago because she wanted some portraits of her and her husband, Russell.  There are about a million reasons I love my job but I really love when I fall into a little circle of awesome people.  Keri grew up with Natalie which is how Kristi found me and so on and so forth :-)   OK, let’s get to the good stuff!  Keri and Russell met me at Crissy Field and it started raining the minute I left the house so I was ever so slightly worried that the weather wasn’t going to cooperate.  Instead we totally scored some beautiful clouds and a very pretty sky!  Oh, right, the photos…

Keri and Russell brought their 18 month old pup, Gus.  He was born on their wedding day – sweet!  Look at him go!

I had so much fun with these guys!  Afterward, we had a glass of wine and enjoyed the last bit of the day.  And I also found out that Russell owns a VW Type 181 (aka Thing) just like me!  Except his is a little nicer :-)   I’ll see you two in July!

Eliza + Thomas {day after}

OK, really it was quite some time after the wedding but “quite some time after the wedding session” doesn’t have the same ring to it.  They were as gorgeous as ever…

Devra + Brian {san francisco engagement session}

I always suggest doing engagement sessions before the wedding because not only do you get some awesome and casual couples portraits but you get to know your wedding photographer.  You know, the person who will be trailing you all day, who is likely to see you in your underwear and who will be interacting with your family and friends?  Whom you are trusting to preserve some of your most important memories?  Yeah, that person. (I’m a little uncertain about my “who” and “whom” use in those sentences.  Anyone?  Megan?)

So Devra and Brian live in NYC but Devra is from the Bay Area and they are getting married in Napa in August.  We had only spoken on the phone and exchanged emails so it was really nice to get to meet them in person before the big day (see above).  We wandered around getting some city shots and then headed toward the Golden Gate Bridge for some more casual photos.  They were really, really fun and not unlike superheros – leaping tall buildings in a single bound!  Without futher ado…

Shannon + Jessup {san francisco engagement session}

I seriously get the funnest couples.  Shannon and Jessup are no exception – in fact, they may be the rule!  They joked around but they only had eyes for each other and there were lots of sweet, beautiful moments.  We went to the Ferry Building and then to the place that Jessup proposed.  It was under construction (and completely dark outside) the last time they were there so we took a guess as to the exact spot of the proposal and snapped a few shots.  No doubt their wedding is going to be full of love and laughter!

Caitlin + Mike {san francisco engagement session}

I met with Caitlin and Mike waaay back in 2008.  Then the holidays hit.  Now it’s 2009 and I’m finally getting a chance to post a few of their photos.  We met at Crissy Field and they brought along their yellow lab… and Mike’s mom to lend a hand when Summer got out of hand.  It was the only sunny day in weeks and, since these 2 live in Southern California, it was a happy thing!  I can’t wait for your wedding in April – too bad Summer can’t be there!
