Sharon + Steve {san francisco engagement session}

OK, OK, so it’s true that I love every engagement session that I do and it’s true that I seem to get the world’s best clients so you’ll believe me when I say that I had the best time with Sharon and Steve.  The. Best.  We laughed, we shopped, we laughed some more, we ate and we drank.  Real drinks.  OK, we might have even done a shot.  But you didn’t hear that from me.  We talked about their wedding (of course!) and they are really making it their own – let’s just say that it’s going to be simple and stylish and all about the shoes.

We started off at the Ferry Building, hit up Blue Bottle, then Miette and then Sur La Table where Sharon scored the cutest yellow honey pot ever.  Her honey bought it for her.  So sweet.  (Am I taking this too far?)  Then it was off to Chinatown… I think the best thing I can do is let the photos do the talking.

Lisa + Chris {san francisco engagement session}

Lisa and Chris braved the 40 mph winds on Sunday and met me at Sutro Heights Park.  They brought along their dog, Little Ricky, and we managed to find a few spots that were relatively sheltered from the wind.

Next we headed over to Sutro Baths – lovely location but the wind was brutal.  Lisa and Chris remained upbeat despite the fact that it was freezing and they made looking good in the cold and wind look easy.  I mean, look at them – wow.  We finished off the day at the Cliff House – we had lost most of the sun but we managed to get in a few quick shots.

Thanks for being such troopers, you two!  I can’t wait for your wedding!

Shannon + Jessup {san francisco engagement session}

I seriously get the funnest couples.  Shannon and Jessup are no exception – in fact, they may be the rule!  They joked around but they only had eyes for each other and there were lots of sweet, beautiful moments.  We went to the Ferry Building and then to the place that Jessup proposed.  It was under construction (and completely dark outside) the last time they were there so we took a guess as to the exact spot of the proposal and snapped a few shots.  No doubt their wedding is going to be full of love and laughter!

Ayumi + Nate {san francisco wedding photography}

San Francisco weather can be dicey and January is known to be rainy so I half (OK, more than half) expected to be doing all of Ayumi and Nate’s photos indoors.  Well, I couldn’t have been more wrong.  The weather in SF has been usually warm and sunny and, while in the grand scheme that might not be a good thing, it was perfect for Ayumi and Nate’s wedding.  We started downtown at the Westin, moved to the intersection at Green & Mason then on to the Legion of Honor and Crissy Field.  The ceremony was at the lovely Chapel of Our Lady in the Presidio and the reception was at the Mandarin Hotel back downtown.  I think I drove about 30 miles (in a city that is only 49 square miles) but it was well worth it!  Patty from 8events kept everyone on schedule and a big thanks to Annie Florin for second shooting with me!  Ayumi and Nate were willing to see each other before the ceremony which gave us lots of time for photos and meant that they didn’t feel rushed in the time between the ceremony and the reception.  The result was a lot of really beautiful photos at a variety of locations.  And they still had a special moment – Ayumi came down the stairs behind Nate and when she reached the bottom  he turned around to see her… wow.  All couples should consider doing it this way!  Anyway, on to a few photos…

And the slideshow is here.
